What Is Discovery Point Dundee?
Discovery Point Dundee is an award-winning attraction that takes visitors on a journey of Antarctic exploration. Captain Scott’s RRS Discovery is moored at the point and is a preserved Antarctic research vessel. The ship is open to the public for visitor tours, and you can learn all about the vessel and its history. There are audio-visual shows, interactive experiences and actual artefacts of the crew transport that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.

Visiting Discovery Point Dundee
This famed attraction is definitely not to be missed. You can explore the bridge, the galley and the officer’s wardroom with its beautiful mahogany panelled walls. Visitors have the chance to look around the very cabins that were used by Scott and his crew during their adventure. When you climb aboard the RRS Discovery, you will get to see how the crew lived, witness their struggles and triumphs, and even experience what they ate.
The RRS Discovery at Discovery Point Dundee is open year-round. During the summer months, it is open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday to Saturday, opening at 11 am on Sundays. Throughout Winter, the ship shuts at 5 pm. Ticket prices start from £6.40 for children and £11.50 for adults, while family tickets are just £32. During your visit, you can dine in the award-winning Café at the Point, which sources sustainable, high quality produce from local suppliers.
