Glenshieling House is a Victorian Villa and was built in 1893 as a family home. It has been operating as Bed and Breakfast accommodation for many years now. The property extends to approximately three acres of grounds; with gardens at the front and splendid woodland at the back. There is a path around the woodland and one through the middle and, if the weather is suitable, you may like to take a wander around.
If you do venture into the woodland you may come across some of our non-paying guests: in the shape of red squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs, the occasional pheasant, woodpeckers, sparrow hawk and a myriad of other small birds. We even have the occasional sighting of roe deer nibbling at our garden shrubs.
Of course you must go and speak to the “Glenshieling Girls”! There are twelve of them plus Mr Boo Glenshieling the Cockerel. They are responsible for the delicious fresh eggs that grace the breakfast plates every morning and they do appreciate a chat with our guests. They are very nosey girls!
