Camperdown Country Park has a wide range of attractions. There is a golf course, adventure playground and some beautiful woodland trails to explore. There is also a wildlife centre.
Camperdown Wildlife Centre is the home for a wide range of animals. Some of the animals you can see here are highly endangered and are at serious threat in their natural homes. The wildlife centre is part of a worldwide conservation and breeding program to help protect these precious animals. Visiting the centre provides support for these efforts as well as giving you the chance to meet some amazing animals, including wolves, European brown bears, lemurs, owls and eagles.
Animal Experiences
The wildlife centre offers you and your children the opportunity to be a zookeeper for the day. It gives you the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes at the zoo.
If you are interested in an up-close experience with a brown bear, a lemur or a meerkat, you can book this at £70 per person. The experience gives you the chance to get face to face with the animal. However, individuals need to be over the age of eight to take part.
Plan Your Visit
The wildlife centre is open all year round. From March through September the opening times are 10 am to 4.30 pm. In winter, October through February, the park closes earlier, at 3.30 pm. Last entries to the park are 45 minutes before closing.
There is a cafe on-site where you can get a wide range of snacks and food, including hot and cold drinks. If you want to bring your own food, there is a picnic area. There is also a shop where you can pick up some keepsakes from your day out.
There are free wheelchairs available for use. Assistance dogs are not allowed on site for the welfare of the wildlife in the park. There are free boarding facilities for assistance dogs though.
Tickets
Adult tickets cost £6, children are £5, and under-threes are £1.10. You can also get a family ticket for £21
